Hi Angelo, it is good to know, that you want to do some models to our simulator. It would be nice if you do this model in modern way. What I mean.
First of all, we are using model scaling called Level Of Details. It means, that the same model has more than one mesh. First one (LOD0) is very detailed mesh, that is only visible in closed look. Second one (LOD1) is generally speaking model like this from your picture. LOD1 is visible from some distance, so details like bevels, or some details are not visible and could be reduced or deleted. LOD2 is quite general view. Many detail in LOD2 are completely missing. LOD3 is very general view. Please look at this sample tutorial:
The second thing what we want to introduce is PBR texturing. I am using Substance Painter (it is free if you are a student). PBR texturing is not required, but looks pretty. Of course PBR texturing takes more time compared do photo-texture, but from my perspective it is worth the effort.
So, finished model should have one material for all LODs, and each LOD should have only one mesh unless your model will be animated. In this case, each part should be separate mesh.
So if you want, there is a dedicated channel on mattermost called blender-warsztaty. It is polish channel in general, but I think there is no problem if some of communication will be in English. We could discuss many details there.
And finally, we are requiring that every model added to the simulator has a license for unlimited use. CC0 or CC1 is preferred.
