Hello again after few months.  :)

I can already drive a train pretty good, so I decided to try the role of a dispatcher. I have the first shift in Hermanice, everything went well, just can someone please explain to me what individual buttons do at Blokada Liniowa? :D I always pressed something and it worked, but I would like to know how it works. Thanks!

TD2 has 3 types of block: Eap, which is 100% reproduced; Eac, which is present in a lot of stations but for now still requires some cautions; C, which (as far as I know) is present only in Bargowice.

The Eap is a simple station A to station B block. It is semi-automatic, meaning that it is an electric block but it does not guarantee that the trains are complete when they free the line, so the dispatcher must observe the regularity of the tail of the train.

Let's say that station A wants to send a train to station B.
When sending on a single track, but also when sending on double track early, station A must call station B and ask for permission to send the train. Station B will give the permission, and station A will repeat it.

Now, station A will ask for permission to send a train with the electric block. To do so, the dispatcher will press Wbl. Notice that buttons must be pressed firmly. This will activate a white flashing arrow on the block in both station A and station B; the arrow points to where the train is directed. In station B, a continuous ring announces the request.

Station B has now to accept the request. To do so, the dispatcher will press Poz. This will cut off the bell and the arrows in both stations will be steady white.

Station A is now allowed to clear the departure signal. When the dispatcher does so, in station A the Pwl indicator will become red, meaning that the permission given by station B to send a train has been used and will not be valid for a second train. Meanwhile, in station B the white arrow becomes flashing red.
Notice that this operation happens when the signal is given. If it is not possible to clear the signal, the dispatcher in station A must use the dPo button, which will use the block permission and will make it unusable for a second train. Failure in doing so will not allow station B to clear the block, as we will see later. Since dPo is an emergency button, it has to be pulled instead of pushed (so right button of the mouse, instead of left button which is used to push), and a counter will increase.

As the train departing from A occupies the departure signal, setting it to red (S1), both the arrows in A and in B will become steady red, indicating a train is occupying the lock.

When the train will have entered station B, a white light near the Ko button will turn on, meaning the block is ready to be set free. The dispatcher in station B must check the regularity of the train tail before pressing the Ko button. This action will set the block free and ready to be used for another train, after a short cycle which will show us a flashing white arrow and we will hear the bell for one or two seconds.

Notice that pressing the Ko button will have no effect if it has not been activated by a train leaving the block in station B, meaning we cannot use this button if the white light is off.
This will not happen if the train will enter station B without the signal, which happens when it is necessary to enter with Sz.
In this case, it is important, before activating the Sz, to use the button dKo. This button must be pulled. A counter will increase. After the train will have entered the station, the Ko button will illuminate and we will be able to use it to free the block. Failure in doing so will leave us with an occupied block.


Normally, Train Driver 2 sets the block free in station A as soon as the train leaves the A station scenery. This will not happen if the block hasn't been occupied, meaning it still shows a steady white arrow, for example when failing to use dPo. Also, the white arrow will be visible in station B as well, meaning that when the train will have freed the block, it will still be occupied. The dispatcher will then have to manually disconnect it (right click on the block in SPK and click on the relative button).
Station B will have the same problem if station A is equipped with a different block, since some operations will not happen, so always remember to check if the block remains occupied with white light and, in that case, manually disconnect it. This is not realistic and is due to the fact that, as of today, TD2 doesn't manage very well connections between stations with different types of lock (which in the real world simply never happen).

In station B, the button Ko will be activated automatically by TD2, so the dispatcher will not need to use it. This is optional and players can choose to realistically use Ko manually by changing an option in SWDR (as I'm writing we have SWDR version 4).


Ok, this should be all you need to know about how to operate a semi-automatic block device type Eap. We could talk about the other two kinds, but I think that all of this is enough for one day  :)


Oh I was forgetting: in SCS you simply right click on the grey arrow to connect the block with the other scenery; you double click it to ask and to accept locks; the arrow will be flashing yellow, steady yellow, yellow/red or red, the Ko light is represented by a small green rectangle near the arrow, and all the emergency buttons (dPo and dKo) are available from a drop down menu after doing a right-click on the arrow.
