New player, questions
« dnia: 16 Czerwca 2020, 12:43:52 »
Hello,

I'm new to this simulator and I must say it's very good, especially multiplayer which the other sims do not have as yet! I have been doing a few passenger runs in multiplayer with EN71,57 and I just have a couple of questions.

When chosing a multiplayer slot, what do the codes mean, i.e EZT1, POS2,TOW,LUZ,PRP_20 etc etc.....is there a site to say what these mean? I'm guessing train types, goods , passenger  etc?

Also, are there any route maps for learning the routes in the sim?

Many thanks to the dispatchers online for helping me out with my other questions, great community.

Many thanks.

Hello,

these are the train types.

EZT: Is for EN57 and EN71. ALL: Is for all. TOW: Is for Cargo Trains. POSP: Is for regional trains. Osob: Is for Local Trains. LUZ: Is for locomotives without a carriage.

Greetings FDL52

The route will be different each time you play. Map is divided into sceneries. One scenery is controlled by one dispatcher. Sceneries are being connected to each other dynamically when you drive from one to another. The connection of sceneries and sequence of appearance is dependent on timetable which is given by the first dispatcher.

Hi. You're right, mentioned abbreviations mostly mean train types. They don't seem to be documented anywhere in the wiki, yet they are quite important:
EZT - Elektryczny Zespół Trakcyjny - Electric Multiple Unit, spawns for EN57 and 72 (I'm not sure if it's legal to spawn railcar there)
POS - Pospieszny - Express Train
TOW - Towarowy - Goods train
LUZ - Luzem - Locomotive solo
OSO - Osobowy - Passenger train
SM42 - obvious, some of these spawn offer interesting shunting opportunities
PRP_20 - No clue, most probably track names as abbreviations usually match station name
A,B,C - Exit semaphore names
Tm1 and so - Shunting semaphore names

This was very confusing in the beginning.

TOW - Towarowy - Goods train
:o :o
You'll agree that freight train is better word and less complicated to think 'bout category for this type of train.

Great, many thanks for the replies guys, it all makes sense.

Just a couple of other questions if I may!

In the timetable at the top right of screen, what are the symbols that sometimes appear  - 'po, ph, podg, pt' etc after the times? Also, does the short vertical line underneath a time signify that you don't stop at that place/station, i.e a passing place?

Also, is there a way to know from the timetable if you have to shunt or reverse direction at a station/place? Luckily the kind and helpful dispatchers/signallers have told me what to do at the time, but it would be good to know without help (to free up chat time when it's busy!)

Many thanks again, a great site and sim!

Hi!

On some locations you may find "po.", which means that it is a stop and not a station (i.e. a location with platforms, but with no signals nor points), or "podg.", for service locations such as junctions.
No train does any type of service in "podg." locations. If you stop here, it's only because you're waiting for another train to clear the route.

If you have to stop in a location, not only you see two times (arrival and departure, of course), but also the abbreviation "pt" or "ph".
"Pt" means it is a technical stop, e.g. for waiting for another train to clear the line. You may depart earlier than the scheduled time, if possible, and if when you arrive the signal is already clear you're allowed to not stop at all.
"Ph" means it is a commercial stop, so if you have a passenger train you must stop and wait for scheduled departure time.

"Pm" means that your train will change direction in the location, so prepare for oblot  ;)

A single vertical line means that the line only has 1 track, two lines are for - guess what! - 2 tracks.
A double horizontal line means that you're going from one scenery to another, which will be controlled by a different dispatcher.

While we're here: on the left of the timetable you see the speed limits. If they're in the upper part of the cell, you have to be within that limit before entering a certain station, while if they're in the lower part, you're supposed to keep that speed limit only after leaving the station. Be aware that speed restrictions are not shown on the timetable - I'm talking about those indicated with the triangular signals (W8).

Sorry, the only Polish words I understand are "witam" and "kolej" :)
I'm learning some Polish train-related words. Please be patient if sometimes I ask to speak in English.

I won't agree, English is not my native language and I'm generally more familiar with British vocabulary :/
