I just found something on PC from 2 years ago. Since I live in very western Germany, I am often in The Netherlands, because it is kind of close to me. So we often went to Netherland to get buy some shit like cheap coffee or something like that. ZEW420 confirmed lel. We did those rides very often to NL and I remember them since I am a little child and have lots of memories with it. So 2 years ago I got to know, that the NS (Dutch Railways) will set their "Mat'64" EMUs out of service, which were somehow the kibel masterrace of NL and they want to make an official last ride with a party and some shit by NS and that you could apply to it. So I told them my story with my travels to NL and I was allowed to take part with a friend and it was a really nice day, they coupled 4 of them together and made a ride through whole NL, there was some entertainment at some stations, people who operated those trains told stories via the announcment system in the train and there was a lunch bag for everone, and free books about the EMU. It was a great day. And when I see how people relate to railways in Germany, or some rolling stock is put out of service, there are not really much people caring about it, excepct some rail-interested people. But it was stunning how much people came out to see their "ape's head" as they call it in NL, which are not rail fans. There were crowds of people at almost every level crossing, stations, and other points along the ride and the trains were horning almost the whole ride, so even one horn broke during the day. At some stations trains of other companies showed on their destination boards some last words. It was an amazing mood. 3 EMUs were put into the scrap yard later that day around 11pm and one EMU is preserved and will be used for historical rides.
A few months after this, a line was take out of service, because it should be transferred to a metro line of the Rotterdam Metro network and there was similar event about it, and there was also one of those NL-Kibel masterrace trains.
