Dear TD2 community,

I wanted to ask about realistic train formations for a mail train as it may still run today or has run in the past, can of course also be mixed if the trains have not only run with mail at that time. Does anyone have any suggestions or already made presets that could be used? I would be happy to see your presets!

I know this generator, but I don't see real templates for mail trains, only real templates for passenger trains. It has the generator where I select the goods, but I would like to have real consists.

Transport of mail by PKP is an interesting topic.

Back in the 90s, and up to 2003 there were "postal trains". They were running under the SDŁE category, which meant postal-luggage trains.

Some examples:
-from train composition plan 2B for year 1990 at Enkol site:

Across the years this trains were becoming shorter and shorter until they dissapeared completly.

You can very well reproduce them in TD2 using following cars:
-304Ca Pdn post-car
-209C Ds luggage-car
-211K Us-Ux car - that's an interesting case. This covered cars where rebuilt from refrigerators to be used for "fast-service" in SDŁE trains, which lasted up to 90s
-401Ka Gags cars - were also used in SDŁE trains in the 90s
-202Lc refrigerators - running from time to time also in SDŁE trains in the 80s/90s, conveying perishable goods
-other passenger carriages, which were transported to/from repairs

As a appropiate category i recommend TME/TMS or PWE/PWS if you are using only 304Ca, 209C and other passenger cars like in the early 2000s.

As a supplement - mail and luggage was being conveyed in Poland also in normal passenger trains. All of the above listed cars were possible to met in normal fast and commuter services. The last services of post cars ended around 2011. Also the freight 211K/401Ka etc. cars with fast and perishable goods were running so, but i think it's a little risky to run in TD2 a commuter train with Gags cars
